Internationally, the Knights work with Coats for Kids
Blessed Fr. Michael J McGivney founded the Knights of Columbus in 1882 in his parish in New Haven, CT.   Service and charity are at the heart of the Knights. Founded to meet the needs of immigrants, refugees and families suffering from the death of a breadwinner, the Knights began as a small service organization and has grown into a worldwide financial and charitable organization.  It was not long before other priests encouraged men in their own parishes to join the Knights of Columbus.  The Knights of Columbus is now in USA, Canada, Mexico, Poland ... and has a membership of 1.6 million
